GDPR Procedures for Geofix Customers

What is the purpose of this information?

To inform our customers about the new rules under GDPR and the rights they have. It also explains how we handle the information we store and what it is used for. You can read more about GDPR at the end of this document.
Customers are offered the opportunity to provide consent under GDPR, stating that they accept our use of their contact information for communication regarding orders and marketing via newsletters.

Why does Geofix AB maintain a customer register?

In order to process customer orders, we must register certain information that enables us to complete sales. This includes the customer’s name (company), contact person, delivery address, billing address, phone number, email, and order reference.
We use this information to deliver, invoice, and communicate with customers about their orders.

We only collect personal/company data relevant to our role as a supplier. Customer data is not used for any other purposes. Collecting data "just in case" or for potential future use is not in line with our policy or with the GDPR. In such cases, we must always obtain the customer's explicit consent.
By placing an order on our e-commerce site, the customer consents to (accepts) our GDPR procedures.

How does Geofix AB store customer information?

We do not retain personal or company information longer than necessary. Our customer register is never sold or shared with any third party.
For invoicing, we follow the Swedish Tax Agency's regulation that all accounting records must be kept for seven years.

Customers who have an account on our e-commerce site can choose to close and delete the stored information. Please contact us, and we will take care of this immediately.
Consent can be withdrawn at any time. Everyone has the right to be forgotten.

Our customers can always opt out of receiving newsletters (e.g. Weekly Offers). This can be done under "My Account" or via the unsubscribe link in the newsletter footer.
If you have received a newsletter by mistake, contact us and we will unsubscribe you.

Who has access to Geofix AB’s customer register?

Only Geofix AB employees who require access to perform their duties.
We only share customer data with:

  • Credit agencies (for leasing and installment services)

  • Shipping companies (for deliveries)

  • The customer themselves (upon request)

In rare cases, we may share the customer’s delivery information with a distributor for direct delivery. In such instances, we request that the distributor does not store the data.

Customers can request a copy of all information we store at any time.
They also have the right to have incorrect information updated promptly.

How is Geofix AB’s customer register protected?

Customer data in our register must not be stolen or exposed to unauthorized parties. We do not disclose personal information other than the contact details required for our obligations.

We protect our customer data with:

  • Personal passwords on all devices

  • Updated software

  • Antivirus protection

  • Regular backups

  • Close collaboration with our IT provider
