The Bohnenstingl 3D Magnetic Contour Ball Base is designed for measuring straight and curved edges using 1.5" (38.1mm) spherical prisms. Manufactured from stainless steel, it features an integrated strong permanent magnet to hold the prism securely in position and help attach the base to suitable magnetic surfaces.

The base incorporates a specially shaped quadrant underneath, with its tip positioned precisely at the centre of the base. This allows it to be positioned against straight or curved edges at different angles, providing a consistent measurement reference. The 25mm height offset (H0) means that the centre of the spherical prism is positioned 25mm above the measured edge.

Product Overview

The Bohnenstingl 1434.KS provides a specialised mounting solution for three-dimensional surveying of straight and curved edges. Its quadrant-shaped underside allows the base to follow different contour profiles, while the integrated strong magnet helps secure it to suitable magnetic surfaces. The defined 25mm height offset provides a consistent reference between the measured edge and the centre of the spherical prism.

For tracking measurements along contours, Bohnenstingl recommends the standard version with a weaker magnet. The 1434.KS strong-magnet version is recommended for vertical and overhead measurement positions.
